Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the management of Medicaid applications, patient accounts, and collection of private funds due.
Duties include the development and maintenance of bookkeeping records necessary to properly account for the financial transactions of the center in a confidential manner and to safeguard the assets by following company procedures.
Preparing accurate and timely accounting transactions and reports is critical.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and formal classroom bookkeeping education or two years bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in writing and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products • Be able to work accurately with pressures of deadlines and interruptions while at the same time being well organized, persistent and working as a team player.
• Possess good communication and analytical skills with particular ability to pay attention to details.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries regarding Medicaid from potential nursing home admissions.
Inquiries may be in writing, by telephone, or in person.
Provide information verbally and/or in written format about the Medicaid process.
Complete application for Medicaid in the nursing home, enters application and supporting information into the Medicaid website.
Monitors application process and assists family with provision of required information.
Enters Admissions and Discharges into the Medicaid System.
Completes bi-monthly billing to Medicaid through the Medicaid secure web portal.
Corrects any issues regarding billing to insure timely payment from Medicaid.
Completes Medicaid Contracts for all Resident Liability upon approval and when liability changes.
Complete Social Security Representative payee forms when appropriate.
Completes Annual Social Security Payee Reports.
Maintains the Resident Trust Fund of Residents.
This includes posting of withdrawals and deposits, balancing of bank statement, maintaining documentation of any withdrawals, deposits, and sending required reports to Resident/Sponsor.
Monitors balances within the Resident Trust Accounts and notifies Resident/Sponsor at any balances nearing or above Medicaid guidelines.
