Description
As a Seasonal Tax Professional, you'll serve clients with diverse tax needs with the support of an expert team dedicated to providing you with the advanced tax training you'll need to be successful.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Complete and successfully certify in tax law training, including the use of electronic filing software, to provide free tax return preparation for eligible taxpayers.
Prepare tax returns after being cleared by intake & Interview station
Review tax returns completed by fellow seasonal tax professionals and volunteer tax preparers, ensuring that every taxpayer receives top quality service and that the tax returns are error-free.
Assist volunteers and clients with questions accurately and in a timely fashion.
Assist Site Coordinator with prompt transmittal of tax returns in accordance with IRS guidelines and Goodwill best practices.
Assist Site Coordinator with timely resolution of rejected tax returns by contacting client by phone, meeting with them when they return, explaining the reason for the rejection, and patiently working with them to resolve and resubmit the return.
Inform clients about additional financial services offered by Goodwill and in the community.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor or GoodwillSR leadership.
Operating Hours and Days
This is a seasonal position based upon business needs and availability.
Monday: 9am – 6pm
Tuesday: 9am – 6pm
Wednesday: 9am – 6pm
Thursday: 9am – 6pm
Friday: 9am – 3pm
Requirements:
Ability to work 30 hours weekly throughout the tax season.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
Successfully complete and pass the IRS Certification listed below
