Position Information Position Title Assistant/ Associate Professor, AgriBusiness/Agricultural Economics (Tenured-Track) Job Summary The College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences (CAENS) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Agribusiness degree program.
Essential Job Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in several areas, including but not limited to agribusiness and agricultural economics.
The candidate will also be responsible for providing leadership in Agribusiness research and extension programs working with socially and historically disadvantaged farmers in Alabama, particularly the Black Belt Region.
Duties include participation in student advisement, curriculum development, student activities, and college-wide committees.
The successful candidate is expected to pursue creative, scholarly, and professional activities at all appropriate levels, including administrative, supervisory, and other functions, as well as work closely with undergraduate and graduate students within the college and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications Candidates must hold a Ph.
D.
in agribusiness, agricultural economics, business management/administration, or Public Policy and have relevant professional experience.
Candidates with a record of successful teaching, demonstrated scholarship and ability to work in a team are desirable.

Skills and Attributes The preferred candidate should have professional experience in different computer program software essential to the field and exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
A proven record of grant application experience and industry support for educational initiatives is desirable.
Applicants should have a record of peer-reviewed publications, including journal articles, technical documents, etc.
University-level teaching experience is also preferred.
