Position Title Assistant Professor of History
Job Summary
The Department of History and Political Science seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in History to begin on January 1, 2024.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.
D.
in History with a background in 19th or 20th century U.
S.
history.
Specializations in African American history, women’s history, and labor history is accepted.
The applicant must teach and develop courses.
Responsibilities include teaching four classes (12 hours) in History per semester, engaging in scholarly research, serving on committees, advising students, and performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Essential Job Duties
teach four courses each semester in History, total to 12 credit hours.
Create and teach new courses in History
Academically advise students.
-Serve as member of organizations within the department and the university.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.
D in History or complete a Master’s Program with 18 credits in History.
