Position Title Assistant Professor Psychology
Job Summary
The Psychology and Sociology department is the second largest program in the College of Arts and Sciences with 200 plus majors.
The department has a strong research relationship with the University s Health Disparities Institute for Research and Education, Aerospace Engineering, and Education programs that offer multiple opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations.
Essential Job Duties
The department of Psychology and Sociology seeks applicants for Assistant Professor of Psychology Positions for undergraduate course instruction and possible graduate course instruction.
In addition, faculty will also advise students, engage in scholarship, and participate in departmental, university, and community activities.
The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours with the option of supplementing research hours obtained through grant participation for teaching instruction hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate or Psy D in Psychology, the sub-field is flexible (e.
g.
, Educational, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Cognitive, and Social Psychology or Clinical Psychology); however, candidates must have an earned doctorate with teaching and research interests applicable to experimental and human factors psychology broadly defined and a demonstrated commitment to continued scholarly development.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching and research experience

Basic computer skills along Excel and SPSS software knowledge are encouraged.

Faculty should have good human reltional skills.
Ability to lead student in course instruction, advise, and maintain adequate course records using Blackboard or Canvas
Ability to relate to students and transfer knowledge using real world lived experiences
The qualified candidate will have knowledge of the principles and theoretical frameworks that shape the field of Psychology.
In addition, the candidate should had experience and working knowledge of the career opportunities within the discipline.
