Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives as well as supporting operational excellence by leading efforts to maintain product compliance to industry and internal standards while reducing process defects and improving the quality of outgoing product.
He/She participates in the evaluation of the performance of the production process and quality of resulting products to improve existing methods of operation.
This position requires knowledge of company, industry, and governmental regulations affecting product quality and actively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Understands and demonstrates Safety as the first priority in all activities; Plan, execute, maintain and update the quality management system (QMS); Develop, execute and maintain quality standards, procedures, plans and objectives; Develop and implement quality plans for current and new products; Evaluate and report metrics related to new product launches and production quality-readiness; Manage, develop, evolve, monitor, evaluate and maintain the quality team as defined by the org structure; Develop, execute and maintain quality methods to enable measurement of required product attributes; Ensure that products meet quality objectives, customer’s requirements and expectations; Monitor quality performance metrics by overseeing the gathering and reporting of data and execute, lead or participate in improvement efforts as required; Manage and maintain quality inspection and testing as well as related documentation for in-process and finished products; Manage and provide guidance to team members engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity; Recommend and provide training for quality department personnel to ensure they are capable of performing to a high standard; Participate in developing and executing training for production personnel to ensure quality expectations are achieved; Partner with other departments in activities that will aid in the reduction of internal defects; Generate, monitor, communicate and improve key quality metrics and KPI’s (Defects Per Unit and others) and ensure that reporting and performance information is readily available among stakeholders; Work with suppliers as required to improve quality metrics of incoming materials and to reduce scrap, rework, and other issues which affect productivity; Meet with suppliers, internal personnel and customers to investigate, discuss and resolve quality problems; Identify areas where product or service quality requires corrective action and execute such; Conduct studies to determine root cause, effect and the corrective measures required to remedy defects, issues or deviations; Implement corrective action plans and monitor the effectiveness of the solutions; Effectively communicate at all levels both internally and externally as appropriate; and, Other duties may be assigned.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
