*Position Description:*
The CNC Production Manager will oversee the CNC Machining Department.
This will include: the program, setup, and operation of CNC equipment.
This position plans and oversees machine production and efficiency.
The Production Manager will apply knowledge of mechanics and machining procedures to produce quality precision parts on time and to time standards.
*Job Responsibilities:* * Monitors and determines manufacturing costs and outlay, quality and quantity of goods produced, production methods, tooling applications, and ensures the effective use of production hours, skills, machines, equipment and facilities * Participates in planning production schedules, technical requirements and manufacturing controls related to all manufacturing operations * Expedites scheduled production, investigates and resolves delays and initiates corrective action.
* Coordinates operations-related programs such as manufacturing methods, cost reduction initiatives, preventive and regular maintenance, training, staffing, safety and housekeeping * Administers company rules, regulations and policies * Participates in the budgeting process, monitors and reports on manufacturing performance as it relates to budgetary guidelines * Participates in the selection and acquisition of capital equipment for the production area * Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget * Overall responsible for the safety training and development of all CNC employees.
* Oversee the machining operations, watch for problems in the production process * Check the accuracy of the finished piece against drawings using calibrated measuring tools.
* Stay current on machining technology by learning new techniques and learn how to operate new machines.
* Provides training, direction and daily feedback to team * Motivates team and sets a good example * Enforce safety, quality, and all other company policies * Help machine operators with problem solving, adjustments, and machine setups.
* Responsible for overall CNC Production Team performance.
* Analyze production priorities * Work as a team in the CNC machine shop with tooling, inspection and other production and assembly departments.
* Assist in machine maintenance and repair as needed.
* Inspect for quality in all aspects of different jobs.
* Assure work areas are kept clean and orderly utilizing 5S methods.
* Lead and organize scheduling * Coordinate production jobs for efficiency * Coordinate inventory requirements with assembly.
* Setup and trouble shoot machine operation * Inspect Job Orders for completeness * Responsible for record-keeping and for team member performance appraisals, attendance tracking and work goal meetings * Performs other duties as assigned *Job Skills Requirements:* * Broad knowledge of manufacturing and quality principles and familiarity with labor-intensive machining, fabrication and assembly operations; may require knowledge of warehouse management * Strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage a diverse group of employees in a manufacturing environment * Working knowledge of manufacturing management programs * Working knowledge of employee relations issues and/or collective bargaining agreements in both union and non-union environments * Demonstrated superior verbal and interpersonal communications skills in order to motivate and manage a diverse group of individuals in a variety of positions * Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems * Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location *Education:* Bachelor's Degree in Production Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience *Experience Requirements:* Minimum of seven years of manufacturing experience in machining and assembly operations environments *Position Type and Expected Hours of Work* This is a full-time exempt position and typical work hours are according to the needs of the department.
Weekend and Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
