Position: Construction Supervisor
Department: Roads & Engineering
Salary: $21.
12/Hr
Under general supervision and instruction this position is responsible for supervising and participating in road construction and maintenance operations.
*Qualifications/Knowledge: *
* Must have high school diploma or GED
* Must have a current valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a related field is preferred
* Knowledge of road construction and maintenance principles
* Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
* Knowledge of work zone safety principles
* Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, county ordinances, and department policies and procedures
* Skill in the supervision of personnel
* Skill in problem solving, prioritizing and planning
* Skill in interpersonal relations
* Skill in oral and written communication
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Supervises and participates in the construction and maintenance of county roads and related infastructure
* Installs and repairs storm drains and driveway pipes
* Supervises and assists with traffic control in work zones
* Operates a variety of heavy equipment, including bull dozer, loaders, backhoe, bobcat, etc.
* Inspects equipment and coordinates equipment maintenance
* Transports crew to and from worksites
* Responds to after-hours emergencies
* Maintains daily log of work performed
* Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel
* Performs all other related duties as assigned
