*Position: *Road Maintenance Worker
*Department: *Roads & Engineering
*Salary: *$16.
50/Hr
*Under general supervision and instruction this position is responsible for participating in the repair and maintenance of county roads and infrastructure.
*
*Qualifications/Knowledge:*
* High school diploma or GED, current valid driver's license
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred
* Knowledge of road construction and maintenance principles
* Knowledge of work safety principles and practices
* Skill in the use of hand and power tools
* Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
* Ability to work in inclement weather conditions as necessary
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Operates a variety of light equipment, machinery and tools in the maintenance and repair of county roads and drainage systems
* Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including chain saw, weed eater, blower, shovel, rake, limb saw, etc.
* Assists in traffic control at work sites
* Performs pre- trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections; preforms preventive maintenance
* Performs public works construction, maintenance and repair duties; replaces road signs, installs driveways, etc.

* Attends department meetings and training sessions
* Performs all other related duties as assigned
