Lead Cabinet Production Engineer Opelika, AL Duties and Responsibilities: Point Broadband offers a fast paced, team-oriented work environment, competitive wages, benefits and paid vacations. Cabinet Production Engineers are responsible for equipment installation and service work. Engineers also maintain our inventory of assets and materials. Computer networking skills are a plus but we will train the right person. Applicants must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. Telecommunications, fiber, or cable experience preferred, but not necessary, WE WILL TRAIN YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL! Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below: • Install and relocate outlets • Install or remove general electrical materials • Install interior and exterior wiring • Connect peripheral equipment • Troubleshoot power connection issues to new wiring • Troubleshoot, repair and replace components within cabinet space • Take voltage measurements • Understand/apply FCC and NESC technical standards • Identify and report all incidents of noncompliance (FCC, NESC, OSHA and company standards) • Complete all tasks to company quality standards • Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times • Maintain excellent attendance • Responsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenance • Replaces defective/damaged materials as needed • Troubleshoots/repairs problems with cabinet electronics • Performs network troubleshooting including ping test, trace routes and speed test as required • Installs power equipment and non powered materials as specified • Other duties as assigned - which may include training other employees Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. One to two years of experience in the broadband communication field preferred but not necessary. We will train the right person! Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are preferred, including internet and email.
