*General Labor/Sales Associate*
The Backyard of Auburn, LLC – Auburn, AL
The Backyard is looking for a part-time sales associate/rock yard laborer.
The job would primarily be located at our Auburn location, but could include work at our Lake Martin Location in Dadeville, AL.
The right person for this position will be able to assist customers with purchases; load and unload outdoor material, by hand or with machine; help load trailers/trucks for pickup or delivery; clear trailers of debris from completed installation jobs; maintain a clean and organized work area; refer masonry inquiries to the appropriate person; and other tasks as needed.
Training will be provided - experience with forklifts or other heavy machinery is preferred.
Hourly pay based on experience.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Primary duties:
* Greet customers and provide great customer service.
This includes answering questions, helping them compare products/materials, and assisting them with their needs.
* Handle various outdoor materials by hand or using machinery.
Training will be provided.
* Collect accurate contact information to refer masonry inquiries to the correct person.
* Operate office equipment and sales register.
* Load/Unload trailers of hardscape material or debris to help install crew operate efficiently.
* Make sure the office and rock yard are clean and organized.
Communicate inventory needs and store concerns to your manager.
* Able to work as a team, and independently in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.
)
Requirements:
* Valid Driver's License
* High School Diploma or GED
* Personal cell phone required with the ability to call, text and take pictures
* Attention to detail with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely manner; ability to problem solve
* Dependable and punctual attendance
* Ability to stand for the duration of your shift while regularly lifting heavy items (50 lb+), bending, squatting, kneeling and reaching overhead.
