Position Title Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement Initiatives
Job Summary
The Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement Initiatives will manage the day-to-day activities related to alumni engagement and alumni relations.
The director develops, coordinates, promotes, maintains, and evaluates special events, programs, and projects related to alumni affairs.
The purpose of the position is to create affinity with alumni in support of the TUCVM efforts to strengthen engagement and inspire philanthropic support.
The director will work to build a culture of alumni engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropy through ongoing intentional communications and implementation of programs that transition graduates into engaged alumni.
The Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement Initiatives reports to the Executive Director in the Office of Resource Development and External Relations (ORDER).
Essential Job Duties
Develop and manage the day-to-day activities related to alumni engagement and relations.
Act as chief liaison between the alumni and TUCVM.
Manage content and ensure current updates to the alumni database and other alumni platforms.
Develop alumni, event, activity collaterals and marketing materials.
Build and train a volunteer network to support alumni related activities.
Assist with maintaining updates on the TUCVM website related to the Office of Resource Development and External Relations.
Assist in the development of strategies to market to alumni including social media and electronic platforms.
Manage communications to alumni and students related.
Assist in the planning and execution of alumni, donor, and TUCVM events.
Develop, track, and report metrics to measure success for alumni annual giving and trends.
Develop regular communications with Class Representatives for honoring Class Giving Programs.
Prepare correspondence to alumni and donors, as needed.
Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and documents surrounding alumni affairs.
Plan and attend alumni receptions and other outreach events.
Ensure preparation and distribution of all documents are accurate, pi’ofessional, and timely.
Assist with development of sponsorship programs and related giving levels.
Prepare documents and follow-up on procurement related activities.
Serve as a member of the TUCVM Annual Veterinary Medical Symposium Core committee.
Submit donor and alumni spotlights to marketing for publications.
Work collaboratively with TUCVM administration, staff, faculty, students, and TVMAA

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
Bachelor’s degree required in business management, marketing and communications preferred.
Five or more years of professional work experience in higher education across areas as development operations, HR, marketing, event planning, program management, and public relations.

Demonstrated effective management skills —leadership, planning, organization, evaluation, and effective communication and ability to produce detailed reports.
Microsoft Office and social media platforms proficient with strong database management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to supervise and lead and train staff and/or students.
Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate a range of special events.
Ability to design and write promotional material and the subsequent implementation.
Ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers.
Ability to develop, prepare, and deliver effective education programs, seminars, and workshops.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
