I own two purebred Miniature Dachshunds ("Doxies"), -- PARENTS PICTURED AT RIGHT -- who recently became the parents of four puppies. The parents are very well cared for, and their puppies are several days old, and seem to be doing well. These dogs mated before I could snap my finger!! So this was an unplanned litter of pups. But, I have to do right by them. My plan is to REHOME them by the time they are weaned. If anyone is interested in adopting, please let me know. There will be a $350.00/(each) rehoming fee for these puppies. They will have no papers, but you are welcome to see mama and daddy. I can not negotiate on the fee, because it has been costly to take care of the mama, and make sure she's healthy, well-fed, and able to nurse and take good care of her puppies. I hope to have them examined, wormed and vaccinated prior to releasing them. The daddy is a black long-hair variety; and mama is a chocolate-and-tan short-(smooth) hair variety. They were born May 15, 2017, and should be ready for their new homes around the last week in June. Three of the pups are chocolate-and-tan (like their mother); and one is black-and-tan like the father. I have NO CLUE whether it will be long haired, or smooth. Please note that I am NOT a professional breeder, nor an expert on this breed. I just happen to own two and love them to death. They are both spoiled rotten. They will come from a good home, and will be cared for. I don't make any guarantees, but by the way they are progressing now, I believe they'll make somebody wonderful pets... My experience with the breed .... These dogs are wonderful companions. Mine are unhappy if they are not constantly in the company of their owner (ME), and often become unhappy if separated from the owner for a long time. They will get lonely and cry when crated. Even though they have crates, they are very unhappy when crated. They want to be free to run the house, but of course, you can't let them do that. Mine follow me everywhere I go. They are not necessarily the best dogs with children, because they are jealous and want all of the attention. They are very playful. They love to play, and are very active. They like to be walked, mine love riding as well. WARNING: They are LOUD. They're "yapping" dogs. They'll let you know if anyone comes within close proximity of your home or your personal space, and will commence to chase them away.
