Position Summary:
Supervises Assembly Technical Team; reports directly to Assembly Assistant Manager: promotes positive team relations and demonstrates strong leadership through example.
Manages Technical Team activity in order to meet company goals in compliance with the company’s Vision, Core Values and HTGP Employee Guidebook.
Essential Functions: Corporate: Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain policies and procedures Learns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF 16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and Health and Safety ISO 45001 policies and procedures Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy Always strives to maintain a positive work environment Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management EHS: Adheres to all safety policies and procedures Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment Consistently meets company safety goals Technical: Generates, understands and confirms performance reports.
Analyze, countermeasure and report daily downtime Coordinates activities with Maintenance Group Leader to reduce equipment downtime Promote Department goals by providing direction to all direct and indirect subordinates.
Correctly manages employee attendance and leave for accuracy and business efficiency.
Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery targets for assigned area.
Manage assigned manpower according to approved HTGP Business Plan.
Consistently demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to perform assigned duties Validate department training of new or existing Technicians Demonstrates an active understanding of processes and procedures, standards and methods, equipment and leads others in the same Manages DC nut runner and air tool inventory ensuring tools are repaired as needed and preventive maintenance is accomplished Develop and implement improvements to process or equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency Ensures Team Members perform to policies, procedures, and training Developing the leadership skills and performance of the technicians under their authority Exemplify an open door environment Supports each assigned area as required to achieve overall business goals Understand and applies correct LOTO procedures and leads others in same Leadership: Administers first step disciplinary procedures Makes recommendation to Hire, Terminate and Promote Enforces clean philosophy (5S) to maintain a clean working environment Build and sustain positive team relations and effectively handles team relation issues Build and sustain positive relationships with support organizations Directs all team members on his/her crew Communicates effectively to management and team members Initiate and ensure resolution of equipment related issues Education High School/GED Associates degree (preferred) Reporting Direct reports: 1-5 Reports to: Assembly Assistant Manager Competency Requirements SUPERVISORY COMPETENCY Effectively demonstrates leadership/management competencies; communicates critical issues to manager in a timely manner; meets deadlines; manages and resolves conflicts in a positive manner; supports a positive work environment; coaches and mentors Team Members; facilitates Team Member learning; clearly defines development expectations; measures results/outcomes; understands importance of labor relations; manages Team Member/ unit performance; controls resource utilization; meets unit/department goals; effectively uses process/project management principles; demonstrates and applies policy and procedures to achieve area business results; develops and implements countermeasures to eliminate root cause and prevent problem recurrence; provides data as needed.
