JOB SUMMARY: Manages all Human Resources functions and activities to ensure that GSF recruits and retains a qualified workforce to meet GSF and customer objectives. Ensures compliance with labor, safety, and company rules and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversees the implementation, administration, and dissemination of information regarding all Human Resources functions including employment, labor relations, training, management development, employee programs, workers’ compensation, compensation, and benefits for exempt, non-exempt, and union employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, Title VII, SWA). (40%) Oversees the recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation of exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees to achieve required staffing levels and selection of the best qualified candidates. (20%) Oversees the administration of the company’s union contracts to ensure strong labor/management relations, compliance with contractual provisions, and smooth operations. (If a union facility) (10%) Develops and implements safety programs and practices to ensure compliance with GSF standards and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, DOT, etc.) and to provide a safe and healthy environment for GSF employees. (10%) Administers performance management and appraisal programs to ensure program effectiveness. (10%) Investigates employee grievances and harassment or discrimination concerns, taking the required actions to resolve problems and ensure a safe and productive work environment. (20%) Adheres to food safety, quality and legal compliance. In the event of a crisis (i.e. product recall, fire, etc.) delegate responsibilities as outlined in the Crisis Communications and Management Guide Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
