Job Title: Supply Chain Manager Background: Milliken & Company is a privately owned, diverse multi-national innovation company. Milliken’s Floorcovering Division supplies commercial carpet, entrance systems and LVT into the commercial, hospitality and residential flooring markets along with mats into the rental services industry and is rapidly expanding its product range and global routes to market. The Floorcovering Division has plants and warehouses in multiple locations in the Americas, Europe and Asia and serves customers in over 120 countries. Role: This role will have responsibility for all Supply Chain activities regarding product supply into the Americas region and supply from North American operations consisting of: S&OP Materials management including material purchasing, inventory management and material flow Production planning Warehousing & Distribution Responsibilities: S&OP leadership for Americas businesses and manufacturing locations. Owns the build of consensus plans between Sales & Marketing, Development and Operations and statistical forecasting for key product groups and operational resources. Managing supply plans to allow for business growth and seasonality with effective use of manufacturing resources. Ensuring the existence of inventory models which have a sound basis in data, linked to desired service levels and existing supply chain design and being able to recommend and implement plans for improved service level, inventory turns or cost reductions through supply chain re-design. Managing inventory levels and obsolescence losses within budget and implementing improvement projects to improve financial performance. Working closely with manufacturing leadership to make recommendations for capital investment to provide necessary manufacturing capacity in a timely manner. Managing the Production Scheduling managers to ensure supply plans are correctly executed and company OTIF targets are achieved. Managing the Americas warehousing and distribution functions to meet effectiveness, efficiency and capital utilisation targets. Implementation and execution of improvement projects (including an understanding of network design) to reduce distribution cost whilst maintaining customer satisfaction. Working closely with corporate freight purchasing, traffic and compliance departments to implement effective processes. Leadership of the US Supply Chain team. Having an ability to build strong teams through people development and recruitment which are fit for the growth plans of the company and having contemporary Supply Chain skill sets. Person specification: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or other numerical subject. Masters Degree or higher a strong preference. Professional Supply Chain Qualification is an essential: APICS – CSCP/CPIM, ISM – CPSM/CPSD or equivalent such as MITx - MM SCM. 5-10+ years of experience working in Supply Chain. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and trade-offs Strong coaching skills, a passion for development of individual and team skills and the ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach with other departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential and a good understanding of statistics. Experience of working with a major ERP system, MRP and planning systems. Prior use and understanding of relevant Business Intelligence software and other supply chain systems such as WMS/TMS. A reasonable understanding of international trade and logistics would be advantageous. Having a good understanding of the impact of Supply Chain on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet and understanding of cash flows. Having an ability to understand the markets we operate in, business issues and strategy and to translate into supporting supply chain strategy, communicate effectively to the team and translate into actionable team goals.
