Job Summary The Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor will participate in the management and implementation of EHS policies, procedure and forms that comply with both regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, ADEM, NFPA, etc. and ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards) in our manufacturing environment and use leadership skills to improve the HSE practices throughout our processes. They will support the EHS team by assisting in training, document creation/revisions, hazard assessments (machine and task specific), waste management, incident prevention, etc. They will have the opportunity to work cross functionally with team members from Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to improve the performance of EHS across the site. The Site Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring the protection of the People, Assets, Information and Reputation of the GKN site. The SSC will have the experience, capability and capacity to manage physical and Information Security and provide operational direction and support to the site through the delivery of a security risk management program. This will enable the site to play its part in enabling GKN to meet its business priorities, contractual and regulatory obligations and maintain its ‘License to Operate.’ Internal collaboration with the Central Security Team (CST), Business Line Security Leads (BLSL) and functional stakeholders will be key to understanding the risks and delivering solutions which support the manufacturing programs. Where appropriate, liaison with Contracting Authorities and customer peers will ensure that expectations are understood and obligations met. The SSC will act as the point of contact for all security aspects at the site, providing advice and support, implementing governance & compliance, managing physical and technical security programs, 3rd Party Security contractor management, monitoring travel security risks, conducting investigations and delivering training and awareness programs across the site. Job Responsibilities Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor Working on projects and supporting a team to find the best solutions Continuously improve processes by implementing risk management and prevention initiatives Building relationships both within GKN and with our external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams to deliver excellence Support with EHS training activities and initiatives Develop and/or revise EHS policies, procedures, forms and check sheets Assist with implementing controls to manage waste streams (ZERO to Landfill – 2025) Assist with conducting EHS focused audits and inspections (OSHA, ADEM, ISO, etc.) Site Security Manager: Managing operational security at the site on daily basis. Conducting an annual (more frequent if required) Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA) to identify security risks and ensure that appropriate and proportionate controls which comply with group standards and meet contractual and regulatory requirements are implemented. Contractual and performance management of third party manned guarding services. Liaison with the Site Leadership Team, Business Line Security Leads, the Central Security Team and other relevant GKNA stakeholders. Liaison with Contracting Authorities (CA), other government bodies and local law enforcement agencies (if appropriate). Information Security – effectively managing the creation; handling; sharing; transfer, communication and disposal of classified data and information, in accordance with regulatory and best practice requirements. Ownership of the site Incident Management Plan and processes. Job Qualifications Required: Experience in Health, Safety and Environment HSE knowledge and competence Understanding of industry, national and local HSE requirements Understanding of ISO certifications (14001, 50001, 45001) Appointment subject to obtaining necessary security clearances. Capability and capacity to absorb/take-on additional security responsibilities. Understanding of Threat & Risk Assessment methodology and process. Understanding of physical and technical security controls. Experience in the development of Plans, Processes and Procedures. Ability to manage third-party Manned Guarding contractor. Preferred: Experience of Security Risk Management in GKNA or previous role. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills - an effective communicator both written and verbal skills. SIA/CPP or equivalent security qualification. Investigations experience.
