*Job Title: *Lead Fitness Instructor
*Reports to: *Wellness Center Manager
*Supervises:* None
*Job Summary:*
To help members determine their fitness level, help them properly utilize fitness equipment, and design a personalized wellness program.
To help members in achieving their personal fitness goals and to keep them motivated and enthusiastic while achieving these goals.
*Education, Experience, and Skills Required:*
· Certification in Personal Training
· Skilled in conducting risk stratification, conducting physical fitness assessments and interpreting results, constructing appropriate exercise prescriptions and motivating apparently healthy individuals with medically controlled diseases to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle behaviors.
· Work-related experience within the health and fitness field
· Adequate knowledge of and skill in risk factor and health status identification, fitness appraisal, and exercise prescription
· Knowledge of exercise science including kinesiology, functional anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, program administration, psychology, and injury prevention
*Essential Functions or Duties:*
· Incorporate suitable and innovative activities that will improve an individual’s functional capacity
· Effectively educate and/or communicate with individuals regarding lifestyle modification
· Educate and train all ages and health level how to properly utilize fitness equipment
· Educate members about dietary needs, weight loss, and weight maintenance programs
· Help motivate and encourage all members to achieve their personal fitness goals
· Greet members and guests
· Give tours to potential new members and explain services offered and rates
· Ensure cleaning schedule is followed for equipment area
· Maintains tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, customers, and the public
· Preserves the confidential nature of items of which she/he has knowledge.
· Address safety issues
· Wash and dry linens daily
· Light housekeeping.
Maintain a clean and presentable facility for the public
· Assist with smoothie bar
· Assist with marketing strategies for Lake Martin Community Hospitaland Wellness Center
