*POSITION: CHEF* *Reports to: Store Manager/ Director of Operations* *JOB DESCRIPTION* *Summary/Objective: * Responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen.
Study recipes, create prep list for kitchen crew.
Manage food cost and inventory.
Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance.
Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment and work area.
Lead, mentor and manage kitchen staff.

· OVERSEES all food preparation, production, and presentation; ensures that recipes are followed and preparation and presentation are adhered to consistently.
· Responsible for accurately forecasting and preparing steam table planners based upon sales volume and customer demographics.
· Responsible for accurately forecasting and preparing daily specials, BBQ, cold prep, vegetables, and desserts.
· Responsible for Holiday Commissary and Corporate Catering events.
· Responsible for setting par levels.
· The Executive Chef is responsible for food products from time of preparation until the finished product is delivered to the customer.
· Assists staff with job functions as needed to ensure optimum service to all patrons.
· Ensures all kitchen and food operations are in compliance with all legislated health and licensing guidelines; ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
· Provides proper training to new kitchen employees.
· Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and safety regulations.
· Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
· Must be able to handle various types of meats and seafood as served within the restaurant menu.
· Must be able to use fingers bilaterally and unilaterally (one-handed) to unload boxes and operate equipment related to your job.
· Must be able to maintain balance and climb three to five feet on a ladder in order to retrieve supplies, store boxes, etc as required to perform the functions of your job.
· Must have vision and hearing corrected to be able to legally operate a vehicle in various environmental and traffic conditions.
· Maintain punctuality and attendance as scheduled by management and/or as necessary during unscheduled times to meet customer’s needs.
· Undertake and support any policy, change, system or work rules the Company implements regarding the purpose of this position.
· Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Ability to manage priorities and workflow *Supervisory Responsibility: *This position has NO supervisory responsibilities, is supervised by Head Cook and reports to the Store Manager *Work Environment: *This job operates in a full service or fast food restaurant kitchen model environment.
Role may also serve in outdoor, or event environment as required by catering needs.
This role routinely uses standard kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, stoves, utensils, etc.

At times, position may be required to travel to local restaurants within the perimeter to support organizational needs.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, 40 inches high without the aid of another person and up to 75 pounds with assistance; Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while performing work duties; Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull in the performance of duties; Must be able to use fingers bilaterally and unilaterally (one-handed) to unload boxes and operate equipment related to your job.

*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work*Position is Full Time Regular.
Position is required to work at minimum 45hrs/week each week to maintain full time status.
Evening and weekend work is also required as job duties demand.
*Travel: *Some local inner/outer 285 perimeter travel is expected for this position.
Personal vehicle is required.
No overnight travel required.
*Minimum Qualifications: * · Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
