Summary
The Yard Assistant Manager will manage all processes of the Yard Department including but not limited to: vehicle movement, tagging, scanning, fuel, car wash, repair orders and RTP's, and company / show cars.
Responsibilities
Primary
Manage, plan, and direct efficient vehicle movement
Give clear direction to the Yard team regarding daily goals based on the company's objectives
Assign tasks and provide direction to employees to ensure timely completion, quality, and efficient utilization of staffing
Communicate work assignments to Supervisors and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day
Keep team members advised of changing priorities and assignments
Secondary
Work with internal and external customers to understand and meet or exceed their expectations
Work with other Departments to facilitate the efficient movement of units on the yard and the processing of units through the VPC shop
Provide feedback to employees regarding performance
Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with employees regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices
Keep Manager advised of any performance problems
Tertiary
Ensure team members have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform their assigned tasks
Determine and track Yard department's KPIs and make corrections and/or improvements based on analysis of results

The position is based out of the West Point, GA office at a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment.
Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email.
