Position Information Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor/ BSW Program Director Job Summary Faculty member will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.
The role of BSW Program Director/Assistant or Associate Professor requires vision, energy and creativity for sustaining the program.
A history of academic leadership and CSWE accreditation experience are preferred.
The faculty member may teach some online courses and will teach residential: (seated) courses in Social Work, which may include practice or elective courses in social work that are dependent on the areas of expertise of the faculty member and needs of the department.
This full-time (10-month) position requires teaching two courses each semester with possible (2-month) contract for the summer semester; managing curriculum, assessments, personnel (hiring, supervision, reviews).

recruitment, and retention; advising BSW students and social work minor students; engaging in scholarship; service to the department, college, university, profession, and community; and overall support of the BSW program.
The BSW program accreditation was reaffirmed by CSWE in 2018 with its next reaffirmation due in 2026.
Essential Job Duties Teach courses in Social Work as assigned.
Serve as the academic advisor to BSW students.
Engage in scholarly activity.
Manage curriculum in collaboration with other faculty in the department and interprofessional or global studies.
Attend to student recruitment and retention.
Maintain the quality of the program in accordance with SACSCOC and CSWE accreditation standards, Provide service to the department, college, and institution.
Serve as supervisor of BSW program faculty and staff; maintain budgets; and perform all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair of Social Work Preferred Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have an earned MSW degree from a CSWE accredited MSW program, an earned doctorate in Social Work or closely related field, and five years or more of post-MSW practice experience (direct or community practice) the successful candidate will demonstrate: Additionally, A commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship Evidence of scholarly activity Leadership experience in academia and/or industry Experience or familiarity with CSWE accreditation Physical Demands mild lifting of 101bs or more walking for possible long periods of time when on travel (especially international) FLSA Exempt Status Full-Time Position Statement In keeping with the President’s commitment to Tuskegee University becoming “One Tuskegee”, the ideal candidate will possess the willingness to use their expertise in transforming Tuskegee into a leading 21st century living and learning environment.
Skills and Attributes Preferred Requirements: Candidate with LMSW or LICSW, preferred.
Candidates must have an earned MSW degree from a CSWE accredited MSW program, an earned doctorate in Social Work or related field, and five or more years of demonstrated success in education leadership or administration experience; five or more years of teaching in BSW programs; ten or more years of post-Master’s degree professional experience; experience in technology and online instruction and program development; and eligible for tenure at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
