Posting Details Position Information Job Title Assistant/Associate Professor of Conservation Social Sciences Posting Number P1610F Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) at Auburn University is seeking applications for a nine-month tenured or tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Conservation Social Sciences.
The successful candidate will have a 60% research and 35% instruction, 5% service appointment.
Teaching will include a service course and a course(s) in the faculty member’s area of expertise, depending upon needs and interest.
The projected start date is August 2024.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a Ph.
D.
from an accredited institution in the conservation social sciences at the time employment begins, along with documented experience in research and teaching.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized and externally funded research program in the conservation social sciences.
The candidate must have experience conducting research in the conservation social sciences.
Focal areas may include but are not limited to: · Human dimensions of wildlife/natural resources · Coastal policy and governance · Coupled human-natural systems · Social components of climate change science · Social aspects of conservation planning Other qualifications include a record of successful publishing and experience developing proposals and grant management.
To be considered for the Associate Professor level, candidates must provide examples of unique and significant contributions to research and teaching, and evidence of national or international reputation in their field.
Desired Qualifications We are especially interested in candidates who can work across disciplinary boundaries and contribute to the overall CFWE program and our Natural Resource Management (undergraduate and graduate) programs.
The NRM degree name is changing to Environmental Conservation and Management (ECM) in 2024.
The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required, and a commitment to inclusion and diversity is essential.
