Job Description Summary
The Department of History at Auburn University seeks to make a tenure-track appointment in African- American History at the assistant professor rank.
Period and specialization within African-American history are open.
The appointment will begin August 16, 2024.
The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in U.
S.
history and their area of specialty and in the World History core curriculum.
A Ph.
D.
in History, American Studies, or Africana Studies is required at the time employment begins.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.
D.
in History, American Studies, or Africana Studies or related field is required at the time employment begins.
Advanced doctoral candidates whose dissertation defense will be held prior to the position appointment date are encouraged to apply.
Period and specialization within African-American history are open; The appointee will teach in the World History core curriculum, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialty.
The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
