Job Summary The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter coordinates and implements student recruitment activities for a technical college and assists them through the enrollment cycle. Essential Functions · Provides introduction and guidance to applicants and students in the areas of admissions policies, procedures, and processes. · Maintains frequent communication with prospective and admitted students · Attends recruitment events in the community as well as plans and executes recruitment activities on campus. · Maintains contacts and good working relationships with K-12 schools, and community organizations in service area (65%) · Evaluate and audit admission files for completion. · Maintain knowledge of competitive selection requirements for all competitive healthcare programs to assist students with application process (25%) · Participates in the Strategic Planning process for the college/department and helps implement the plan (5%) · Other duties as assigned. (5%) Competencies · Proficiency in using Banner and BDM or other scanning software · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite · Effective Communication, verbal and written and ability to provide effective guidance and communication both face to face and virtually using teleconferencing or communication platforms. · Good working knowledge of college admissions processes · Understanding of FERPA restrictions and proper guidance and assistance within compliance of privacy acts and restrictions · Skill in managing multiple priorities · Knowledge of financial aid procedures · Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment Minimum Qualification · Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* Two (2) years of related work experience Preferred Qualifications · One-year experience working with the Banner Student Information System · One or more years work experience in college admissions counseling, admissions recruitment, financial aid, student advisement or related areas · Experience coordinating college recruitment events · One or more years’ experience reviewing student records to evaluate student admission eligibility Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, mainly located on a specific campus. Days and hours of work are typically set and specific and generally established between Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 6:30 pm and Friday, 8 am until 12 pm (for 40 hours max). This position will occasionally require weekend work. Travel Travel to other campus locations is occasionally required, as needed.
