The Child Development Center is a ministry of Auburn First Baptist by which we provide safe, loving quality care for children in a Christian environment.

Looking for a full-time teacher for our center.
Hours would be 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Must be willing to coordinate with the lead and afternoon teachers in order to carry out lesson plans, positively interact with children with a variety of tasks and activities, interact positively with the parents and staff members, adhere to the Performance Standards set by the State of Alabama as well as those set by the National Accreditation Commission.
*Required:* High School Diploma or equivalent
*Preferred:*
BS/BA or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or Human Development & Family Studies *or*
AA in Child Development *or*
CD certificate *or*
CDA or be willing to work towards and obtain a CDA
Experience in a child care classroom
*Job Description:*
*Position Purpose:* To assist the lead teacher with the protection and care of assigned children and to implement daily curriculum.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Loves, cares, and protects each child, accepting the children as they are.
Helps give each child individual and special attention each day
* Uses positive guidance techniques, such as positive reinforcement and redirection; sets age appropriate and consistent limits for children's behavior and hold children accountable to standards of acceptable behavior; gives children the opportunity to make acceptable behavioral choices and guide them to resolve conflicts
* Demonstrates and models behaviors that encourage children's development of trust, such as: keeping promises, responding with sensitivity, showing respect for the children with word choice and tone of voice, arriving in the classroom regularly and on time
* Helps provide and maintain all areas of a child's development, including physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional, aesthetic, and spiritual development
* Plans with the Lead Teacher in developing the schedule and teaching units as requested
* Prepares materials with/for the Lead Teacher as requested
* Assumes lead teacher role when needed (may be scheduled at times during the day or when the Lead Teacher is absent-including when Lead Teacher leaves for the day)
* Plans and implements daily afternoon activity that follows the weekly lesson theme
* Maintains constant communication (oral and written) with the Lead Teacher
* Helps maintain communication between the Lead Teacher and parents/guardians
* Maintains chore charts, as approved by the CDC Director
* Assists the Lead Teacher with cleaning responsibilities, maintaining an orderly room, and putting out and storing children's cots.
Sheets should be removed on Fridays to be sent to the laundry and cots should be cleaned on Fridays.
(Exception: Sheets are changed daily and beds cleaned daily in infant room)
* Obtains the DHR required 12 yearly training hours, the DHR required yearly 11 hours of health and safety training yearly and the additional required training hours for national accreditation as determined by the Director but based on level-education
* Completes other duties as assigned by the CDC Director
