Work has all been done by professional shops specializing in Volkswagens (Late Night Air Cooled in Chico, Pat's Vee W's in Fort Collins, The Wise Westy outside of Missoula).
I had a $2000 Propex heater and tank installed - it keeps the van warm on the coldest of nights (I've been in Whitefish during -20º nights and have been toasty).
I just had Pat's Vee W in Loveland, CO, install a new (original) turn signal switch.
This van has taken me all over the Dakotas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington, and driving Vern has taken ordinary road trips and made them epic!
This is by far the coolest car I have ever owned.
