Position Details Position Information Requisition Number Stu02220P Home Org Name AU Performing Arts Center Division Name Administrative Effectiveness Position Title Student Production Crew Working Title (if different from Position Title) Job Summary The student production crew at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University a year-round position available to Auburn University students. This position will provide assistance with load-in and load-out for all special events including equipment set-up, execution and break-down for rentals, rehearsals, and performances held in the Woltosz Theatre, Amphitheatre at the City of Auburn Lawn and Porch, and Gogue Center auxiliary spaces. Events include but are not limited to: concerts, plays, musicals, festivals, luncheons, university programs, and facility rentals, as assigned by the Director of Production, and/or Production Managers, at the Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University. This position will also act as welcoming ambassadors of the Gogue Center to patrons, donors, special guests and visiting artists exemplifying superior hospitality and customer service. Essential Functions Assist with load-in and set-up, of audio and lighting equipment, scenery and costumes, for performances during load-in. Assist with load-out, by striking (take it down) audio and lighting equipment, scenery, costumes, and reloading trucks. Provides assistance with Theatre lighting, audio, or stage operations, as assigned by the Director of Production and/or Production Managers. Break down and remove equipment from spaces. Sort and store equipment in proper location in an orderly fashion. Collaborate, in a professional manner, with touring companies, while performing at the Gogue Performing Arts Center. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Enrolled student at Auburn University Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers over the phone or in person. Display substantial knowledge about GPAC facility layout, venues, and auxiliary spaces. Proficient knowledge of rules and regulations of each venue, to ensure safe and successful events are executed. Ability to understand layouts, meticulously follow set-up, break-down, and equipment transporting instructions as assigned. Ability to work independently and with different groups. Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, climb ladders, and carry equipment. Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests, and coworkers. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to work late nights and long hours. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of relevant Office 365 software: Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, etc. Possess above-average problem solving and communication skills. Easily adapts and handles high-pressure situations and deadlines. Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed in appropriate attire, presenting a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude.
