JOB The Aviation Maintenance A&P Instructor will be responsible for the day-to-day activities in their respective departments.
Plans and delivers instruction as assigned for the aviation technology program.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience according to the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 Salary range: ($45,676 - $92,513) for nine-month employment; Summer employment may be available dependent on enrollment: ($14,102 - $28,612).

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Teach the required course material effectively.
Plan, organize, and instruct courses in the day, evening, or on weekends.
Assist in implementing College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with College philosophy and procedures.
Keep active at a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those subjects.
Recommend textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to Department Chairs.
Related functions include participating in the College’s library collection of development by selecting, evaluating, and weeding library resources in each appropriate discipline.
Keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers, projects, skill assessments, and other work.
Submit annual program budgets to the Department Chair and work closely with the appropriate Department Chair on the development of annual division budgets for approval by the appropriate Dean.
Conduct class evaluations and complete other College evaluations in accordance with College policy.
Serve as an academic advisor to assigned students.
Post and maintain office hours for student consultations.
Assist in recruitment and retention of students.
Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled.
Plan each unit or lesson, both as to content and method, to make each class minute meaningful.
Organize each course taught into an effective instrument of learning.
Study and utilize the characteristics of the students in each class in order to facilitate the best teaching and learning situations.
Maximize the learning opportunities for each student.
Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the College.
Refer to the department of Student Affairs’ reports on all students who require assistance.
File an appropriate course syllabus and/or course outline with the Department Chair and the appropriate Director for each course taught.
Submit all required reports, keep accurate class rolls, and submit attendance verification as required to the appropriate administrative personnel.
Attend all faculty meetings, College assemblies, professional development, orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean, Director, or Department Chair.
Make suggestions to the Department Chair, Director, and Dean concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the College.
Become thoroughly familiar and comply with all College policies and procedures.
Be actively involved in the co-curricular activities of the College.
Represent the College in a positive manner both on and off campus.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the respective Department Chair, Director, appropriate Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Development, or the President.
