Essential Functions Performs multiple duties which are a mix of administrative and clerical in nature, which may include but are not limited to: data gathering, data management, correspondence, filing, calendar management, room reservations, event scheduling, registration, mail distribution, answering the phone and general email communication, website and social media maintenance, taking minutes at meetings, maintaining office equipment and supplies, assisting with inventory of equipment, and purchasing/ordering supplies. Serves as an office receptionists and source of information to inform students, employees, and others about the general business of the unit; general organization structure of the university; general policies and procedures; names of key people, and other such matters. Provides budget tracking and monitoring, purchasing card reconciliation, payroll processing, travel/expense voucher processing, as well as other expenditure processing. Responsible for all work and telecommunication issues/orders and general maintenance of office space for the Poultry Science Building area designated to Nutritional Sciences. Acts as a liaison to other departments, clients, and students on behalf of the department head. Aids faculty with special projects and or accreditation (i.e., research projects, advisory board meetings, recruiting events, guest speakers, special events, accreditation data management, etc.) May perform some administrative duties which may include but are not limited to: budget coordination, human resources administration (beyond payroll entry), onboarding of faculty, staff, and graduate students, recruitment coordination, student and faculty orientation, preparation of reports/documents/presentations, act as point of contact for purchasing or vendor/outside agencies, and coordination of complex projects or events. Participate in academic duties which may include but are not limited to: registering students in courses, scheduling classrooms, entering course information in the AU student scheduling system, maintaining grades/registration, contacting bookstores concerning textbooks, ensuring that faculty complete textbook orders in a timely fashion, submit course syllabi and grades at the appropriate time each semester, and administrative issues related to student academic or financial issues. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Level I: High school diploma plus 2 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services. Level II: High school diploma plus 4 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent. Substitutions allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
